Why can't your friends coming to Woodbury contact you
from the center of town?
The answer is simple, the ridges and valleys that make
our town so beautiful also stop radio signals from reaching
every corner of Woodbury. The solution is also simple
but highly unattractive as proposed by the transmission
companies to our zoning commission.
What now exist are two towers, one in the north end of
town on Mr. Wolf's Farm and the other on the West Side
of town on the Pond Farm. What has been suggested is a
very high tower off the dump road or a tower in the center
of town behind the police station and against the side
of the ridge.

The towers as presented were straight, ugly, metal structures
and offered no redeeming features. The protest was loud
and plentiful at the public hearings and the zoning board
rejected the applications.
We have since spent $12,000 with the town lawyers to defend
our right to preserve the wonderful quality of our town.
What is needed, is to look on our Selectman's desk and
see the picture of the tower that looks like a white pine
tree. Yes, it is large, but put up against the hillside
it would disappear amongst its fellow real trees.
Does
this look different?

Would you, the taxpayers and voters, please ask/tell candidates,
state politicians, and appointed state commissions to
do something more then hold hearings, pay lawyers and
form more committees? Lets not look for deals on land
or space for such a project! How about just doing it on
our land with our money so we can have our income without
being obligated to any business?
Chet Hardisty and Dick Crane, come on, say something!!!!!!
P.S. A tower located on Town property could have generated
$12,000.00 instead of costing us that?
